About. Ksenia Maksimova

Ksenia Maksimova is a documentary photographer and photojournalist from the Chuvash Republic, Russia. Сurrently based between St. Petersburg and Moscow. In her personal projects, she explores the themes of traumatic experience and cultural memory. Ksenia is also interested in social and crisis issues. She is a graduate from the course of documentary photography and photojournalism of the School of Contemporary Photography “Docdoсdoc”. Ksenia’s works were published in The Independent Photographer, Takie Dela, OVD-Info, Mediazone, Holod, Novaya Vkladka, Republic.ru, and others.

Finalist of POY Asia 2024 (“Сultural practices” category), shortlisted of Luis Valtueña International Award Humanitarian Photography and Urbanautica Institute Awards 2024.
